Val is considered to be the head-archeologist of Soluna City Museum, she is in charge of excavating artifacts and Zardosaur fossils from Soluna. As an archeologist, Val sometimes asked the Player Character to collect even more fossils and artifacts for her, in exchange for mechas and weapons supplied by the Museum.
As the very passionate curator of the museum, Val dreams of turning it into a history-rich place filled with artifacts from all over the galaxy, but lacks many items. Together with the Player she works to increase the collection.
Missions[]
Jungle Ruins[]
The Player is tasked with retrieving an artifact in a jungle within Loreon. After fighting a Veloci-Mecha, the Player has climb the tall stairs to the entrance of the temple on foot, and after dodging traps they find a crystal shard that emits an icy energy field. They bring it back so Val can examine and learn more about the technology.
Desert Ruins[]
Tasked with retrieving a fossil inside of an ancient temple, the Player trekked through the desert in their mecha. Once they found the place and opened its massive door, the Player inside ran through fire traps on the floor and fought a Shadowscythe Pilot.
The second trap in the temple involved a riddle, five braziers atop five pedestals, all of them with the inscription "Touch the hottest flame to light the way."
With the middle brazier chosen, another trap was set up. The passage back closed off and spikes arose from the moving walls and ceiling, requiring the Player to remain still until the trap stopped and everything moved back to where it originally was, granting them access to the fossils.
Underwater Ruins[]
Val's Yellow Submarine
With the use of a ̶y̶e̶l̶l̶o̶w̶ ̶d̶u̶c̶k̶ special submarine, the Player is to descend an ocean abyss in search of ancient stone tablets in the approximate resting place of the legendary Kathool Atchoo. At the bottom, after dodging hordes of deadly jellyfishes and battling a Kathool Adept, the Player finds a temple built inside a massive crustacean shell, hugged by the tentacles of Kathool.
Due to some sort of enchantment, the inside of the temple has breathable air. Out of their mecha and inside the temple, the player finds a Shadowscythe Pilot and kills it. Once further inside the place, Kathool takes notice of the Player tresspassing and takes action, forcing them to once again ride the mecha, which was repaired by the yellow submarine in the time it was inactive.
With Kathool Atchoo defeated the Player was able to successfully retrieve a fossil from its temple.

- Val Surehunter becomes Valencia Surehunter the Rogue during the events of The Reset period.
- Archeologist Val is also a subtle reference to the famous adventurer-archeologist called Indiana Jones.
